What Was the Home Upgrade Grant?

The Home Upgrade Grant Phase 2 was a government-funded scheme for eligible low-income households in England, mainly focused on improving off-gas-grid homes with poor energy performance. Measures could include insulation, low-carbon heating and related home energy improvements, subject to local authority delivery, property suitability and scheme rules.

HUG Phase 2 has now closed as a delivery phase. Similar support may be available through current routes such as Warm Homes: Local Grant, subject to household eligibility, EPC rating, property type, local authority delivery and funding availability.
